Introduction to Theatre 665
All aspects of the world of theatre, from an historical perspective to a theoretical point of view are introduced in Introduction to Theatre. Students study world theatre, and explore the historical timeline of Western theatre from the Greeks to modern day. We examine the work of designers and technicians as well as actors, directors, and writers. We even analyze the role of the audience in the total theatre experience. Some practical work is done, especially in the field of technical theatre, such as designing sets, costumes and lights.
