Dance for Athletes Dance History
This course is designed for the student athlete or any one who wants to experience  and develop body awareness through dance images and movement through time and space. Proper stretching and conditioning for the individual body type are emphasized. The fundamental goal is to develop flexibility and a centered, well aligned instrument. This course explores the early origins  of dance as a means of celebratory and ritualistic expression through cultures. The evolution of ballet and modern forms are emphasized, and the creative processing so necessary to the formulation and growth of the art are explored through studio projects and analysis.
