Most Public, Private, and School Libraries in the United States belong to a consortium that provides cooperative loan of books and journal/newspaper articles to member libraries. Requests are usually limited to three items per patron at one time. Requests are made at the Main Circulation Desk. A time lapse between request and receipt, normally a week to ten days, is dependent on where the material requested is located.
