The Culver Academies

Winter School and Summer Camps

The Catholic Liaison will work with the Priest assigned by the Diocese of Fort Wayne/South Bend in conjunction with the Chaplain of the Academies to develop, organize, and administer a campus ministry program to serve the spiritual life of Catholic students on campus.

Expectations and Responsibilities:

n      Consult with the Priest of The Academies (assigned by the Bishop of the Fort Wayne/South Bend Diocese), the Chaplain of The Academies, and key faculty and staff who work with Catholic students concerning liturgical matters, scheduling of services and events, and student and residential life issues.

n      Assist the Priest of The Academies in articulating to the campus community the expectations, practices, and traditions of the Roman Catholic Church.

n      Oversee the organization, training, and administration of the student ministries of Lector and Eucharistic Distributor.

n      Oversee the organization, instruction, and administration of the Confirmation Preparation program.

n      Oversee the training and evaluation of Catholic Prefects assigned to the Chaplain of The Academies.

n      Coordinate with the organist the selection of congregational hymns for liturgical services held in the Memorial Chapel.

n      Serve as the liaison between St. Mary’s Parish and the Academies through ex-officio membership on the St. Mary’s Parish Council.
