Biography

Miss Stacey Warren holds a B.M.E. degree, specializing in Choral General, grades K-12, from DePauw University, and an M.M. with Honors from Northwestern University in Opera Theatre Performance. While a student at Northwestern, Miss Warren received the Fredrik A. Cramer Award for Excellence in Opera.  Stacey also studied voice at Indiana University with Martha Lipton, and attended the National Music Camp at Interlochen, Michigan.

Stacey first came to Culver to teach voice and direct the Upper Camp Chapel Choir the summers of 1981 and 1982, and joined the winter school faculty in the fall of 1996 as Instructor of Voice in the Fine Arts Department.  She was promoted to Master Instructor in May, 2007.

During the 11 year interim, Stacey was the Choral Director at Maconaquah Jr. and Sr. High Schools, and Caston School Corporation, directing a total of 12 choirs, including Swing Choirs, directed 10 musicals, participated in and hosted Circle the State With Song and ISSMA (Indiana State School Music Association) Middle School Organizational Contests, participated annually in the Northwest District Choral Festival, Dinner Theatre(s), Variety Shows, Concerts, and taught General Music classes.   Stacey’s choirs earned first place ratings in Division I of yearly ISSMA contest participation, and received numerous invitations to perform throughout the area(s), including the Murat Theatre and the former Union Station in Indianapolis, and were selected for a Christmas special aired on South Bend’s Channel 16.

Stacey is a member of Mu Phi Epsilon National Music Honorary, the Indiana Choral Directors Association, the American Choral Directors Association, has been a member of the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, a soloist for the dedication of the Steinbrenner Recreation Facility and Opening Convocation(s) at Culver, a soloist for community choirs, soloist at various churches throughout Indiana and Chicago, and will be singing with the South Bend Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Nancy Menk, for the '07-'08 season.  The Chamber Singers performance information can be found at www.SouthBendChamberSingers.org.   

Stacey has also been selected for inclusion in Who's Who in American Teachers, Who's Who in American Women, and the National Honor Roll's Outstanding American Teachers.
