Adjunct Instructor in Voice

 

Matthew Daniel has been described as a bell canto tenor of steely power and robust tone by the Denver Post. Matthew has demonstrated these qualities in his opera and concert appearances. Some of his opera roles include Don Basilio in The Marriage of Figaro, Pedrillo in Abduction from the Seraglio, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Nemorino in Elixir of Love, Rodolfo in La Boheme, Il Duca in Rigoletto, and Pinkerton in Madame Butterfly. As a tenor soloist in concert appearances Matthew has sung the Bach Magnificat, Rossini's Stabat Mater, Mozart's Requiem, Handel's Messiah, and most recently Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. In addition he is a two-time winner of the Friedrich Schorr Memorial prize in Voice and a winner of the American Institute of Musical Studies Meistersinger Competition in Graz, Austria. Matt is also a member of the Lyric Opera Chorus in Chicago.
